A Special Purpose Machine (SPM) is built to perform one operation, or a small set of operations, on a specific component. It gives up the flexibility of a general-purpose machine in return for speed, accuracy and consistency.
Signs an operation is a good SPM candidate
- High, stable volumes of the same component
- A repetitive operation such as linear, round or profile welding, pressing or drilling
- Quality issues caused by operator variation
- A bottleneck station that limits the whole line
Types of SPM we build
Our range includes linear and round TIG/MIG welding SPMs, cam-type and servo-type profile welding SPMs, pressing SPMs, drilling SPMs, and 2-axis and 4-axis manipulators.
Proving before dispatch
Every SPM is run in our facility on actual components until it meets the agreed cycle time and quality. You receive a machine that is ready for production, not a machine that still needs development.
